Subdivisions

General Information

Gundagai Shire Council encourages the orderly development of land for housing. Development is needed to provide enough blocks for housing demand and to give a variety of choices to home builders.

Development must consider land use, environment and sustainability.

Rural residential subdivision is creating larger sized housing lots in a rural setting usually outside the town and village areas. Urban residential subdivision is for house sized lots within the town and villages.

People purchasing these lots have expectations about the services they need. The Council is responsible to these new residents and must ensure that developers meet their needs.

Development applications for subdivisions to create more lots need to be advertised to allow for neighbours to comment before being approved by the Council.

Council officers are available to assist with the preparation of your Development Application (DA)
