Australia Day Awards
Interested persons and organisations are invited to submit suitable nominations for persons to receive Australia Day Awards.
Awards for the following will be presented on Australia Day 2010:
- Citizen of the Year Award
- Young Citizen of the Year Award
- Sports Achievement Award
Nominees must be residents of the Shire. Young Citizens of the Year Award nominees must also be under 25 years of age at December 31, 2009.
Nominations are to be in writing (by letter, or on a form available from Council Offices) and received no later than Friday, December 4, 2009. This will allow consideration and selection of the Awardees by the Council at the December Ordinary Council Meeting.
Submissions should outline the achievements of the nominee so that the Council can make an appropriate choice. Please mark the envelopes "Australia Day Awards - Confidential", and deliver to, or post to: Mr G.A.J. Tickner, General Manager, PO Box 34, Gundagai, 2722.
Gundagai Shire Council supports the Australia Day Council of NSW in their campaign for 2010 - Living Australian Online Photography Campaign which encourages Australians to capture through the medium of photography, how they are Living Australian.
