Council obtains this community input by placing plans and proposals on Public Exhibition and inviting community feedback. This process ensures that local residents, organisations and other stakeholders are informed about what is happening in the area and can have their say on the areas future.

DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL

Section 79(1) (d) Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council has received a development application DA: 242/2017 in relation to the proposed expansion of an existing Waste Disposal Facility on land described as Lots 472 & 502 DP751421 & Lot 2 DP111917 and located at 303 Burra Road, Gundagai.

Determining Authority:                Southern Region Joint Planning Panel

Description of Development Proposal: The proposed development is Designated Development as defined in Schedule 3 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and is an expansion of an existing Waste Disposal Facility including:

  • Increase the rate of waste receival from 40,000 to 60,000 tonnes per annum;

  • Establish a new waste cell with a design capacity of approximately 730,000 tonnes, including partial over-tipping of existing cells 1 & 2;

  • Amendment of cells 1 & 2 final waste and capping levels;

  • Diversion of an existing unnamed gully; and

  • Other ancillary works as shown on the development plans that accompany this EIS.

     

    The development application and supporting documentation including Environmental Impact Statement may be inspected at Council’s Cootamundra and Gundagai offices during business hours 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and on the council website: www.cgrc.nsw.gov.au a copy of the document may also be inspected at the office of the Department of Planning and Environment, 23-33 Bridge Street, Sydney.

    Any person may make a written submission to the Cootamundra-Gundagai Council concerning the development application and if a submission is by way of an objection, the grounds of the objection must be specified in the submission. Submissions will be made available to the Southern Region Joint Planning Panel and may be viewed by other persons with an interest in the application. Submissions should be accompanied by a signed Political Donations Disclosure Form and should be addressed to the General Manager. The period for Submissions will close at 5.00pm Monday 5 June 2017.

    The proposed development is Integrated Development and will require approvals from the following approval authorities:

    Environment Protection Authority:- General terms of Approval under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act.

    NSW DPI Office of Water:- Controlled Activity Approval - Water Management Act.

    Office of Environment & Heritage: Approval under the National Parks and Wildlife Act.

    Any person who makes a submission by way of an objection and is dissatisfied with the determination of the consent authority to grant development consent may appeal to the Land and Environment Court.

    If the Planning Assessment Commission conducts a review, the Minister’s determination of the application is final and not subject to appeal.

COOTAMUNDRA LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 2013

PLANNING PROPOSAL

2016_CGREG_001_00

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council has prepared a Planning Proposal to amend the Cootamundra Local Environmental Plan 2013 (2016_CGREG_001_00).

The aim of the Planning Proposal is to amend the Cootamundra Local Environmental Plan 2013 to clarify the permissible and prohibited land use tables of the IN3 – Heavy Industrial Zone and delete item 46 from Schedule 5 (Environmental Heritage).

The Planning Proposal will be on public exhibition at Council’s Cootamundra Office, corner Wallendoon and Cooper Streets, Cootamundra and the Gundagai Office, 255 Sheridan Street, Gundagai. The exhibition period is from Monday 8 May until Monday 12 June 2017 and can be viewed at either office during the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm and is also available on the following link:

The Minister for Planning and Environment has issued an authorisation to exercise the functions of the Minister under Section 59 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, to Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, dated 23rd December 2016 in the making of this plan.

DRAFT CONTAMINATED LAND MANAGEMENT POLICY

The Draft Contaminated Land Management Policy is a generic policy document which has been created by the Project Officer Contaminated Land RAMROC/REROC. Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council has participated in the formulation of the document which aims to clarify how contaminated land is managed and dealt with in the development approval process.

The Draft Contaminated Land Management Policy will be on public exhibition at the Cootamundra Council’s Office, corner Wallendoon and Cooper Streets, Cootamundra and the Gundagai Council’s Office 255 Sheridan Street, Gundagai. The exhibition period is from Friday 3 March until Friday 31 March 2017 during the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm and is also available on the following link:
