The Turning Wave Festival

The Turning Wave Festival is a celebration of the significant connections between Ireland and Australia dating back to the early days of European settlement. The Festival will celebrate these bonds through music, song, dance, spoken word, literature and theatre. The Festival title is taken from a poem by Colleen Z. Burke and an anthology of the same name compiled by Colleen and Vincent Woods and is used with the authors kind permission. The Festival will be held in Gundagai between 12-16 September 2007. Expressions of interest will be sought from performers and presenters and will be accepted to 31 March 2007. Applications will be considered for concert performances, themed concerts, street performances, workshops and master classes, children's presentations, dance, literature, poetry, storytelling and theatre presentations. Application forms will be available from our website or the Festival Director from early November. For further information contact the Festival Director, Pam Merrigan, at turningwave@optusnet.com.au.
