The Murrumbidgee River attracts anglers from far and wide.

The junction with the Murrumbidgee and Tumut River is a favourite fishing spot. The dams of the Snowy Scheme supply cold water ideal for the plentiful trout that are found in the Murrumbidgee at Gundagai. Murray cod, yellowbelly and bream and also caught in the rivers waters.

Other excellent fishing streams in the Riverina Highlands include the Goobragandra River and Adjungbilly Creek. Anglers also enjoy good catches at Blowering, Jounama, Talbingo and Burrinjuck Dams - all within a short drive from Gundagai.

A boat ramp is located on the Murrumbidgee River 3kms to the east of Gundagai along the Nangus Road.
